Finding the right social group for teenagers with disability can be difficult. Many teens want connection, friendships, and fun, but traditional social settings can feel overwhelming, unstructured, or unsafe.
Our Gold Coast Teens Social Group is a weekly NDIS social group for teenagers aged 12 to 18. It is designed to support social confidence, communication, and genuine friendships in a calm, structured, and inclusive environment.
Run every Saturday during the school term at our Hub in Nerang, this NDIS social group on the Gold Coast combines routine, choice, and meaningful connection in a way that feels safe, age appropriate, and empowering.
A Supportive NDIS Social Group on the Gold Coast for Teens
This program supports teenagers with autism, intellectual disability, and psychosocial disability who want to connect with others but benefit from structure, guidance, and understanding staff.
With a small group size and a 1:2 support ratio, every participant is seen, heard, and supported. Teens are encouraged to be themselves, try new things, and build friendships without pressure.
This is not a drop in hangout. It is a structured NDIS social group on the Gold Coast that supports social skills, decision making, communication, and independence in real world settings.
What Happens at Our Teens Social Group?
Each session is planned with the group and changes regularly based on shared interests. Teens are involved in choosing activities, which helps build confidence, ownership, and motivation.
Activities may include:
Group games and friendly competitions
Cooking and preparing shared meals
Creative projects and art days
Bowling, parks, or supported community outings
Movie afternoons at the Hub
Team challenges and problem solving activities
The focus is always on connection, inclusion, and enjoyment, while gently building everyday social and life skills.
Why NDIS Social Groups Matter for Teenagers
The teenage years are a critical time for developing identity, confidence, and social skills. For many young people with disability, social isolation can increase during adolescence, particularly when school environments feel challenging.
A well run NDIS social group on the Gold Coast can provide:
Safe opportunities to practise social interaction
Support to build friendships and communication skills
A sense of belonging and routine
Increased confidence in group settings
Positive experiences outside the home
Our Teens Social Group meets teens where they are, without forcing participation or overwhelming expectations.
