NDIS Social Group for Neurodiverse Boys & Young Men
Social & Skills is a small weekly group for neurodiverse boys and young men who want to get out, meet people, try new things and build confidence in the community.
Each Thursday is a mix of community outings, social activities, practical life skills and plenty of time to hang out with people who get it.
The group is intentionally kept small so everyone has the chance to take part, have a say in what we do and build genuine friendships without the pressure of a huge group.
Activities change depending on the interests of the group and can include bowling, local attractions, shopping, cooking, games, community outings and other activities chosen together.
The focus is on connection first, with opportunities to build communication, independence, decision-making and everyday life skills naturally along the way.
Group Details
📅 When: Thursdays, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Flexible bookings available)
📍 Where: Community locations + The Hub, Nerang
🔢 Support Ratio: 1:2 (1:1 available if required)
💰 NDIS Rate: $39.50/hr (Core – Community Access/Group 1:2 Rate + Centre Capital Costs $2.71/hr)
💵 Out-of-Pocket Cost: $0
🍽️ Lunch: Prepared together at the Hub
🚐 Transport: Optional pick-ups & drop-offs available (quoted individually)
👥 Group Size: Up to 6 participants
What We Do:
🎳 Community outings (bowling, attractions, local activities)
🛒 Practice budgeting, planning, and decision-making
🍳 Prepare and cook lunch together at the Hub
🧘 Structured downtime and regulation reset before finishing the day
💬 Practice communication, turn-taking, and collaborative problem-solving
