Practical tools for NDIS participants and families. Built by people who understand the system, designed for people who have to live in it.
NDIS Self-Managed Budget Tracker
Self-managing your NDIS funding is empowering. It is also a lot to keep track of.
Between invoices, support categories, provider payments, and making sure your funding lasts the distance, it can get overwhelming quickly. And the myNDIS portal, while useful, is not exactly designed for real-time budget management.
We built this tracker to fill that gap.
What it does
The NDIS Self-Managed Budget Tracker gives you a clear, live picture of where your funding is at. Enter your starting balances once, then log each invoice as it comes in. The dashboard does the rest.
Features
-
Live remaining balance by support category
-
Percentage remaining so you can gauge your position at a glance
-
Traffic light status per category: On Track, Watch, or Near Limit
-
Projected weekly spend based on what is left and how many weeks remain in your plan
-
Payment Status tracking: Unpaid, Paid, Submitted to NDIA, Processing, or Queried
-
Claim Status tracking so you always know where a reimbursement is up to
-
Automatic days and weeks remaining that update every time you open the file
-
Works mid-plan: enter your current remaining balance and track from there
-
Handles quarterly and monthly funding periods
-
Available in both Excel and Google Sheets
Who is it for
This tracker is designed for self-managed NDIS participants and the families or carers who support them. If you manage your own funding and want a simple, reliable way to stay on top of it without logging into a government portal every five minutes, this is for you.
What it is not
This is a planning and tracking tool, not financial advice.
This tool is designed to help you stay organised and in control of your funding. It does not connect directly to the myNDIS portal, so your official balance will always be what’s shown there.
Think of this as your day-to-day tracker, so you’re not guessing where things are at between claims and payments.

NDIS Funding Explainer
Understanding what your NDIS funding can actually be used for is one of the most common challenges participants and families face. The plan document tells you how much you have. It does not always make it clear what you can spend it on.
This free tool changes that.
HOW IT WORKS
Select the support categories that appear in your plan. Tell us whether each one is Flexible or Stated. We generate a plain-language guide that shows you exactly what you can and cannot use each category for, with real examples and the line item codes your providers use.
Price limits shown are from the NDIS Pricing Arrangements 2025-26 (v1.1) and are updated periodically
