This Core Support helps participants maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment, supporting both wellbeing and independence.

What Is Assistance with Household Tasks?
Assistance with Household Tasks provides practical support to help participants maintain their home environment when they are unable to complete essential tasks independently.
According to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, this support covers assistance with essential house and yard activities that a participant cannot safely or reasonably undertake on their own.
These supports may be delivered:
One-on-one, or
In group or shared settings where appropriate
They are funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life.
What Can Be Claimed Under This Support?
This line item can be used for essential domestic and property-related tasks, including:
✔ House Cleaning
Vacuuming and mopping
Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
Dusting and wiping surfaces
Changing bed linen
Taking out rubbish
✔ Laundry Support
Washing and drying clothes
Folding and putting away laundry
Ironing (where appropriate)
✔ General Household Tasks
Tidying living areas
Organising essential spaces
Basic home upkeep
✔ Yard and Outdoor Maintenance
(Under related line item)
Lawn mowing
Weeding
Basic garden maintenance
Clearing pathways
What This Support Does Not Cover
Assistance with Household Tasks does not include:
Major home renovations
Building or structural work
Professional cleaning services outside reasonable domestic support
Home modifications (funded separately)
Cosmetic or luxury services
This support is designed for essential household maintenance, not property upgrades.
Additional Claims Allowed
When delivering household task supports, providers may also claim for:
Non-Face-to-Face Support (linked to the participant’s support delivery)
Provider Travel (time)
Short Notice Cancellations (with 2 clear business days’ notice)
Provider Travel – Non-Labour Costs (Code: 01_799_0120_1_1)
All additional claims must be directly related to supporting the participant.
