Craft Group: An NDIS Art and Craft Group on the Sunshine Coast
Craft Group is a relaxed NDIS art and craft group on the Sunshine Coast for participants who love getting hands-on, trying new things and enjoying good company.
It runs three mornings a week at our studio in Moffat Beach, with morning tea, friendly support workers and no experience needed.
What Is Craft Group?
Craft Group is an NDIS funded community participation group held at The Studio in Moffat Beach. Each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday morning, participants come together to create, chat and unwind in a calm, welcoming space.
It is not an art class with right or wrong answers. It is a social group where the making is the excuse to connect.
What Happens at Craft Group?
A typical session might include:
Painting, collage and card-making
Seasonal and themed craft projects
Diamond art, beading and simple DIY
Relaxed music and conversation while everyone creates
Morning tea together
Every week brings new materials and techniques to try, and most people take home something they made.
Who Is Craft Group For?
Craft Group suits participants who:
Love art, colour and making things
Prefer a calm, predictable setting
Want to meet people without the pressure of a busy outing
Are working on fine motor skills, focus or confidence
The group has up to 8 participants, supported at a 1:2 ratio, with 1:1 support available if needed.

Why Creative Groups Work
Working with your hands gives people something to focus on, which often makes conversation easier. Many participants who find social settings hard are more relaxed when they have a project in front of them.
Along the way, participants build fine motor skills, concentration and the confidence that comes from finishing something and showing it off.
