Fun Friday is an NDIS community access group on the Sunshine Coast for participants who love getting out, exploring new places and ending the week on a high.
Every Friday is different. One week it might be a local café and a picnic, the next a full day out, but it is always about adventure, friendship and real-world confidence.
What Is Fun Friday?
Fun Friday is an NDIS funded community access and adventure group that starts each week at The Studio in Moffat Beach. From there, the group heads out together to explore the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
Each week's destination is shared in advance, so participants and families can plan ahead and know what to expect.
What Happens at Fun Friday?
Outings might include:
Theme park and adventure outings
Day trips, including trips to the Gold Coast
The Aquaduck, whale watching and sightseeing
Group picnics and café catch-ups
Seasonal activities and community events
Support workers help with planning, getting around and joining in, so participants can enjoy the day at their own pace.
Who Is Fun Friday For?
Fun Friday suits participants who:
Love variety and trying new things
Want to build confidence in busy community settings
Enjoy making friends through shared experiences
Are working on planning, communication and independence
The group has up to 8 participants, supported at a 1:2 ratio, with 1:1 support available if needed.
Program Details
When: Every Friday, with times varying by activity
Where: Starts at The Studio, 2/147 Grigor Street West, Moffat Beach
Support ratio: 1:2, with 1:1 support available if required
Cost: $36.79 per hour, the Core community access group (1:2) rate
Out of pocket: Varies by activity and is always listed in advance
Food: Bring lunch or buy it while out
Transport: Pick-ups and drop-offs available, quoted individually
